How to take care of strollers: a lesson from Carrello
30 July 2020
Hello, dear parents, grandparents! Let's start our lesson :)
We know that many of you think that we will not teach you anything new. Like, what's there to look after these strollers for? Don't get dirty, don't throw, take care, and that's it...
You're right, but only partially. After all, the thing is that you don't use the stroller yourself, and you don't use it at home.
An unexpected puddle under the wheels, semolina porridge on the fabric - are there many “surprises” in life that threaten the durability and aesthetics of your child's transport?!
That's exactly why we invited you to today's lesson. We will disassemble the stroller in detail and learn how to take care of it so that it serves for a long time and reliably.
Wheels and prevention
So, who's going to come to the board and tell us what kind of wheels a wheelchair has? Small... Big… Removable… Rotary...
Everything is right. And what is their basis? Metal or made of durable plastic. That's right!
The wheels correspond to the main purpose of the stroller: if walking, the wheels are smaller, if universal– they are larger. If it's winter, it's wider so that you don't get stuck in the snow... and so on.
But that's not the main thing. Wheels are the main element of a stroller, and therefore require some knowledge about care.
Prevention. Thanks to her, a lot of bad things in our lives don't happen at all (from tooth decay to creaking wheels).
The wheels of our strollers really like being wiped with a damp cloth. They don't even mind when they are removed and washed in water due to heavy pollution. (This is provided by the design: for example, in the Maestro model from Carrello, the wheels are completely removable)
At the same time, they only warn: be careful, it's not worth soaking us after all: it may not benefit our bearings. Removed, rinsed, and dried quickly.
You can only replace them completely dry. Water can get on the mount and after a while the wheels may start to creak.
Fabric and washing
Fabric is a very vulnerable part of any stroller. And the point here is not in its quality (we at Carrello are just calm about it), but in the ability of both the child and the surrounding world to soil it.
We are sure that those present will easily name hundreds of such cases. What about it? I poured the juice. I smeared it with chocolate, and it dried up. He blurted out ice cream. A passing car was doused from a puddle...
Unpleasant, but not fatal)) Especially if you are dealing with us, the Carrello company. Each of our strollers has a tag that tells us how to wash textiles properly so as not to harm them. Decoding:
· can be washed by hand;
· can be washed in cool water at a temperature not exceeding 30 degrees;
· use only neutral detergents, do not bleach;
· do not wring;
· dry only when unfolded;
· Do not iron.
In short, the basic rule is to protect our fabric from aggressive detergents and be careful during washing. That's all.
Do not forget: we take care of complete environmental friendliness and safety for the child, therefore we do not use toxic paints (such paints are often not afraid of boiling water) and other potentially harmful materials. And naturalness needs conscious behavior and knowledge of the rules.
Rain and sun
Tell me, where do you keep the stroller? In the stairwell? Do you trust your neighbors? OK. More.
In the pantry? Okay, as long as it's dry.
Folded in the closet? Wow! Oh, you have our new Smart! Congratulations, good choice!
So, who said "on the balcony"?! This is fundamentally wrong! Do not do this, especially if direct sunlight is falling on your balcony. The fabric on the stroller can burn out, the appearance will deteriorate... It would be a shame.
Yeah, here's a good question: then you can't go for a walk in sunny weather, can you? It's not true, you can!) You don't walk under the sun all the time. It's more comfortable in the shade, you'll agree ;) And those moments when the sun is shining on the stroller – they are like an elephant pellet in our fabric)) Here is a balcony, a place in the corridor by the window, near the porch, etc. – this is already dangerous...
And more about the weather. It is good if you use a rain cover during the rain, for example, like our Carrello Gloria model, it will reliably protect both the baby and the stroller itself.
And if, nevertheless, there was no such protection at hand, and the stroller got wet during rain or sleet? Upon returning home, put it in a dry room, removing moisture from the solid elements of the stroller with a dry and clean cloth.
It is even better if the stroller dries in a light, ventilated room: air flows naturally dry out moisture faster.
Frame and load
We make sturdy strollers. They can support both a child and things stacked in a stroller. The frame in Carrello is reliable and sturdy.
But still… Believe me, we've seen a lot of amazing things over the years. The building materials are in the storage basket, the one at the bottom of the stroller. The stroller is without a child, but it is loaded...watermelons. And even an adult rocking in our stroller, as in a chaise longue...
Yes, we take this into account when making the frame strong and durable. And the baskets in them are roomy. For example, the Quattro stroller has a sooo large "trunk".
But still, please use our strollers only for their intended purpose! In the stroller there is a child of the appropriate age for the parameters of the stroller, in the basket there are things necessary for a walk.
Anything beyond that probably won't break the stroller right away.… But the service life can be significantly reduced.
Cleanliness and a walk
We will not dwell on this for a long time. We just recommend cleaning the stroller after every walk. Use at least a brush, or even better, a vacuum cleaner. Collect unnecessary dust, crumbs, and leftovers.
In addition to the aesthetic, there is also a pedagogical factor: this is how we learn to love and cherish our product more. Believe me, it will thank you with long and faithful service)

This will be the end of the lesson. Thank you for taking our advice – we, like no one else, want you not just to use our strollers, but to really enjoy using them.
By the way, let's consider this a homework assignment: buy only products that will bring you joy and wow! Agreed?
